is the klutz crochet hook too small?

no it shouldn’t be too small for the yarn they give you. my daughter learned how to crochet with it. She had the KLUTZ How To Crochet book.
Lace is done with a extremely small metal crochet hook, smaller than the one in the spool/knit book. YOu could use that hook for thin yard
